We noticed links within the content of rich text fields in Sitecore were not always rendering as we expected using Glass.Mapper. We had various requirements where different combinations of settings resulted in different behaviors. For example, A setting that would work for data loaders using Glass.Mapper would result in links that would not render correctly on the front end. Here are some of our findings.

I was tasked to build a new dashboard in Sitecore. We chose to build the dashboard using SPEAK v2. This was primarily to maintain a consistent look and feel with the rest of Sitecore. For the most part, I was able to build the dashboard using existing SPEAK v2 components. There was one component that I needed to build custom. I figured I would share how I built the component in case others need to do something similar.

I was conducting code reviews of Sitecore sites and noticed in some cases inefficient code was being used to determine if an Item had a base template. I saw this code pattern more than once and figured it would be beneficial to share a more performant approach.

Sitecore recently announced a critical security vulnerability with the Telerik Rich Text editor. It is highly encouraged that all Sitecore systems receive the related hotfix. We went through the process of applying the hotfix for all of our Sitecore clients. We found that the patch provided by Sitecore introduced a breaking change to the Rich Text Editor.
